Whenever looking for a new battery, not just LiTime (Ampere Time) 12V 300Ah LiFePO4, always check the actual size of the battery compartment and the actual size of the battery - better safe than sorry.

Despite its size, the LiTime (Ampere Time) 12V 300Ah LiFePO4 battery weighs only 69 pounds (~31.3 kg), which is surprisingly lightweight for the 12V battery featuring a 300 Ah capacity.

LiTime (Ampere Time) 12V 300Ah LiFePO4 battery comes with the built-in Battery Management System (BMS) that protects the battery from unwanted events like overcharge, over-discharge, too low and too high temperatures, overcurrent, short circuit, etc.

The nominal voltage of the LiTime (Ampere Time) 12V 300Ah LiFePO4 battery is 12.8 volts, and the nominal capacity is 300Ah - however, the manufacturer doesn't state the actual discharge rate for achieving 300Ah capacity, but since this is a LiFePO4 battery, supported discharge rates are higher than the discharge rates of similar AGM/Gel-Cell batteries.

Thanks to the built-in Battery Management System, LiTime (Ampere Time) 12V 300Ah lithium battery is able to provide 200 Amps continuously and 400 Amps for 5 seconds. Also, its maximum allowed charging current is also 200 Amps, ensuring quick recharge if needed.

If a battery pack with a larger capacity and/or voltage is required, Ampere Time 12V 300Ah lithium battery can be connected in series/parallel (up to 4 batteries) - first, recharge them separately using a smart lithium battery CC/CV charger and after that connect them all 4 in parallel for at least 12 hours to normalize/equalize themselves. After that, build your battery pack as intended.

Note: for exact procedures, check the battery's Owner's Guide, and if needed, contact LiTime (Ampere Time) Support.

LiTime (Ampere Time) 12V 300Ah battery comes with a pair of carrying handles, allowing two adults to carry the battery to shorter distances.

The battery features a pair of M8 terminal ports, ensuring a firm connection between the battery and cables.

Another advantage of Lithium Iron Phosphate chemistry is the number of supported deep discharge cycles - LiTime (Ampere Time) 12V 300Ah battery supports 4000-8000 charging/discharging cycles depending on the DoD% (Depth of Discharge percentage) and features an estimated 10-year lifespan, with a 5-year warranty.

How to Charge LiTime (Ampere Time) 12V 300Ah LiFePO4 Battery?

LiTime (Ampere Time) 12V 300Ah lithium battery support charging current up to 200 Amps, however, in order not to overstress the battery, one should keep the charging current under 60-70 Amps. IMHO, of course.

Any form of charging/chargers that supports charging of the lithium batteries is supported, including advanced lithium battery chargers, solar charging controllers, and similar - just be sure that the charger/controller is intended for lithium batteries with the maximum charging voltage in the 14.2 - 14.6 volts range.

For example, one of the best buy advanced battery chargers is the NOCO GeniusPRO50 battery charger which is able to charge:

  • 6V batteries (flooded, AGM, lithium): 50 Amps,
  • 12V batteries (flooded, AGM, lithium): 50 Amps,
  • 24V batteries (flooded, AGM, lithium): 25 Amps

Also, for charging smaller batteries, the NOCO GeniusPRO50 battery charger features 10 Amps charging current mode.

NOCO GeniusPRO50 battery charger also comes with many other features, including 12V/24V power supply mode, 6V, 12V, and 24V battery repair mode, battery maintainer mode, battery recovery mode, etc.

Obviously, such battery chargers are not cheap, but neither are the batteries they are used to charge. For more information and the best up-to-date offers and prices, feel free to check the NOCO GeniusPRO50 Battery Charger Amazon link (the link opens in the new window).

If You plan on connecting two or more LiTime (Ampere Time) batteries in series in order to create a 24, 36, or 48-volt battery pack, consider getting good lithium 24, 36, or 48-volt industrial battery charger - these units are not cheap, but neither are the batteries they are charging.

For example, NOCO offers several industrial battery chargers that can be used for this purpose:

Of course, other manufacturers also offer rather reliable and durable battery chargers, so choose according to your personal needs and preferences.

Solar charge controllers that support the charging of lithium batteries and at least 800 watts of solar panels can be used to recharge Ampere Time 12V 300Ah battery during the day, even if the weather conditions are not ideal.

For example, 800 W solar panels with an efficiency of 60% (clouds, angle of panels, etc.) can recharge a fully discharged Ampere Time 12V 300Ah battery in 10-11 hours.

Since this battery can accept up to 200 Amps continuously, a larger solar panel with a good lithium battery charge controller can recharge even a 12V 300Ah battery in just a few hours.

LiTime (Ampere Time) 12V 300Ah LiFePO4 Battery as a Trolling Motor Battery

LiTime (Ampere Time) 12V 300Ah LiFePO4 battery can be used as an excellent trolling motor battery.

With an RC value of ~720 minutes (12 hours), the Ampere Time 12V 300Ah LiFePO4 battery can provide 25 Amps for 12 hours or 50 Amps for 6 hours, with the voltage most of the time being 12.8 volts, or at least higher than 12 volts.

Note: many trolling motors come with battery charge monitors calibrated for lead-acid batteries - they should not be used for monitoring the remaining charge of the lithium batteries.

If the size of the battery is not an issue, the Ampere Time 12V 300Ah LiFePO4 battery can be used as trolling motor battery even for larger kayaks and smaller pontoon and inflatable boats.

The battery weighs just 69 pounds (31.3 kg), which is ~4.35 Ah/pound (~9.6 Ah/kg) - equivalent AGM/Gel-Cell batteries are much heavier, for example, VMAXTANKS XTR8D-350 (Amazon link, opens in the new window) is an excellent deep cycle Group 4D/8D AGM battery featuring 12V 350Ah and RC value of 780 minutes, but it weighs 185 lbs (83.8 kg), which is 1.76 Ah/pound (3.88 Ah/kg) when being discharged at 25 Amps rate.

LiTime (Ampere Time) 12V 300Ah LiFePO4 Battery as a Power Inverter Battery

One of the intended uses of the LiTime (Ampere Time) 12V 300Ah LiFePO4 battery is for off-the-grid applications, where it can cycle on a daily basis for a long time.

As an inverter battery, the LiTime (Ampere Time) 12V 300Ah battery supports the power inverters up to ~2500 W of running power and up to ~5000 W of starting power.

However, these levels of power require strong currents (200/400 Amps) and cables for a 12V system.

Personally, if You need continuously 1-2 kW of electric power, consider shifting your system from 12V to 24V - this will reduce the currents and decrease the energy losses.

But, strictly speaking, a LiTime (Ampere Time) 12V 300Ah battery can power even such 12V systems easily.

For example, if the battery is connected to a 2000W pure sine inverter that operates at 85% efficiency and provides 500W of power, then the battery can operate up to 5-6 hours, depending on the battery's initial charge and its general condition.

Long Story Short: LiTime (Ampere Time) 12V 300Ah battery is a large but lightweight lithium battery that can be used as a trolling motor battery, as an inverter battery, as a solar battery, and for many other uses.

litime 12v 300ah w150pxIt can provide up to 200A continuously and up to 400A for 5 seconds, and thanks to the advanced BMS, it can even be connected in parallel and series (up to 4 batteries).

Initially, the LiTime (Ampere Time) 12V 300Ah battery is anything but a cheap battery, but thanks to a large number of supported charging/discharging cycles (4000+ cycles), in the long run, it is cheaper even than the lead-acid batteries.
