Antigravity ATZ-10 Re-Start Lithium Battery Features and Specifications

The physical dimensions of the Antigravity ATZ-10 Re-Start battery are (L x W x H) 5.9 x 3.46 x 3.62 inches (~150 x 88 x 92 mm) and thanks to a four-terminal design, the battery can be used to replace several groups of larger batteries.

As such, the battery can be used to replace YTZ10S, YTZ12, YTZ14, YTX9, YTX9-BS, YTX7A-BS, YT12A-BS, and similar batteries.

Note: If the battery is used for motorcycles and similar applications, the motorcycle must NOT be older than 20-25 years and it must NOT have an old-style battery charger that actually uses a battery to smooth voltage spikes. If the battery is used for such a vehicle, replace the voltage charge controller with a newer one.

The battery weighs only 2.6 pounds (~1.2 kg) which is almost nothing for a battery that features 360 Cranking Amps.

The Antigravity ATZ-10 Re-Start battery features a nominal capacity of 6.1 Ah, but in terms of Cranking Amps, it is equivalent to Lead-Acid batteries in the 10-12 Ah range.

But, unlike lead-acid batteries, the Antigravity ATZ-10 Re-Start battery can be mounted in any position, supports at least twice as many cycles as a good lead-acid battery, and have a much lower self-discharge rate.

One of the very specific features of the Antigravity ATZ-10 Re-Start battery is its intelligent Battery Management System (BMS) which is used to equalize the cells but also protects the battery from unwanted events, including over-discharge protection, over-charge protection, and thermal protection.

Also, the BMS features a low-voltage cut-off combined with the Re-Start technology - if the battery s deeply discharged, the BMS disconnects the battery from the rest of the electric system, allowing the user to restart (hence the name) the battery while still holding enough charge for a successful cranking attempt.

Such a system can come in handy in many situations.

How To Charge Antigravity ATZ-10 Re-Start Lithium Battery

When the Antigravity ATZ-10 Re-Start battery is placed in the motorcycle or similar vehicle with a modern charge controller (less than 20 years old), let the vehicle keep the battery charged.

If the vehicle is going to be stored for a longer period of time, especially during winter cold or summer heat, take the battery out, recharge it every 3-4 months using a dedicated lithium battery charger and keep it in the area at room temperature or a little bit lower.

Considering the battery's capacity, suitable lithium battery chargers are ones with a charging current in the 1-3 Amps range.

For example, if the battery is discharged down to 50% DoD, a 2 Amps battery charger will recharge it completely in less than two hours.

Antigravity ATZ-10 Re-Start battery tolerates deep discharges relatively well, much better than the equivalent AGM or other lead-acid battery.
