Clore Automotive Pro-Logix PL2320 Battery Charger Features and Specifications
Clore Automotive Pro-Logix PL2320 is intended for charging standard (wet/flooded), Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM), and Gel-Cell lead-acid batteries, regardless if they are deep-cycle, dual-purpose, or starting batteries.
Clore Automotive Pro-Logix PL2320 is designed with safety in mind - the charger offers reverse polarity protection and battery fault detection.
Also, the charger doesn't send energy to the clamps until the user sets parameters, including voltage (6V or 12V), battery type (STD, AGM, GEL), and current (2A, 10A, 20A), after which the battery charger analyzes the battery condition and adapts its charging algorithm to match the battery condition.
Clore Automotive Pro-Logix PL2320 automatically detects sulfation of the battery plates, it automatically enters the reconditioning mode.
When the battery is fully recharged, Clore Automotive Pro-Logix PL2320, the charger is practically turned off, except that it occasionally checks the battery.
The charger is even programmed to introduce some load on the battery when testing during the maintenance period, after which it recharges the battery completely.
Note: some online shops and even the official manual (last time we checked) mention charging the Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries. However, Clore Automotive Pro-Logix PL2320 doesn't feature LiFePO4 battery charging mode. For short, if You are looking for a versatile battery charger that can be used to charge even LiFePO4 batteries, consider NOCO Genius10 6/12V 10A or NOCO GeniusPro25 6/12/24V 5/25A battery chargers (Amazon links, open in the new windows).
To help correctly charge the batteries during cold and hot days, Clore Automotive Pro-Logix PL2320 also includes temperature compensation.
Charger cables are stored at the back of the charger, neatly wrapped around the wrap hooks.
Clore Automotive Pro-Logix PL2320 can be used to charge the car battery while the battery is still in the car or outside of the car.
When charging the car battery, first connect the red clamp to the positive terminal of the battery. Second, connect the black clamp to the chassis, away from the fuel lines, carburetor, or similar parts that may contain fuel or other flammable liquids.
What's the catch? When connecting the negative clamp to the car, there is always a small danger of creating a spark, regardless of all the safety features and protections that modern chargers have - and that spark can initiate a fire. That's why car battery chargers are not connected with both clamps to the battery, which is still in the car.
Note: Modern cars feature negative battery terminals connected to the chassis. Some older cars may have positive terminals connected to the chassis, but this is very rare. Also, Clore Automotive Pro-Logix PL2320 is a very simple-to-use battery charger, but when it arrives, be sure to read the Owner's Guide/manual thoroughly.
When charging the batteries outside of the vehicles, the procedure is similar, just clamps may go directly to the battery terminals.
Note: For the exact charging procedures and especially setting the charging modes, check the Owner's Guide.
Since Clore Automotive Pro-Logix PL2320 features 2A, 10A, and 20A charging currents, it can be used to charge lead-acid batteries from 10-12Ah to 250-300 or even more Ah. However, for charging even larger batteries (or battery packs), stronger chargers are recommended.
Clore Automotive Pro-Logix PL2320 comes with a 1-year limited warranty.
Long Story Short: If You are looking for a versatile lead-battery charger, consider Clore Automotive Pro-Logix PL2320 smart battery charger. It can be used to charge practically all lead-acid 6V and 12V batteries with 2A, 10A, and 20A currents.
Also, it is able to recover, or at least to try to recover, deeply discharged batteries, it can recondition the batteries, and after fully charging them, the charger can maintain them.
Thanks to the built-in safety features, the charger is very safe for use.
