TACKLIFE T8 Car Jump Starter Features and Specifications
TACKLIFE T8 Car Jump Starter is able to provide 800 Peak Amps and is intended for cranking/starting diesel engines up to 5.5 liters and gas engines up to 7.0 liters (some sources claim up to 6.5 liters), which is more than enough for most users.
Also, it can easily crank smaller internal combustion engines found on the power generators, ATVs, boats, snowmobiles, motorcycles, and similar.
Physical dimensions of the unit are 7.16 x 3.18 x 1.37 inches (~18.2 x 8.1 x 3.5 cm) and it weighs 1.21 pounds (~0.55 kg) - TACKLIFE T8 is too large to be carried in the pocket, but it can easily fit into backpacks, glove compartments and similar.
Although it is able to provide very large currents, TACKLIFE T8 jump starter is rather safe to use, thanks to the short circuit protection, over charger protection, over-discharge protection, reverse connection protection, reverse polarity protection, reverse charger protection, over current protection, and over-heat protection.
Also, if the car's battery is completely dead, and TACKLIFE T8 is unable to detect the battery, it will not even attempt to jump-start the car, UNLESS the 'BOOST' button is used - excellent feature, just be sure not to use it unless you really need it, since it turns off certain safety features.
When its internal 18Ah lithium battery is fully charged, TACKLIFE T8 is able to attempt ~30 cranking cycles - the actual number depends on the engine size, its battery condition, temperature, etc.
Internal battery can be recharged completely in 4-5 hours, with its charge condition being presented on the small LCD display, with other relevant information about the unit. Builtin lithium battery features expected life of 1000+ charging/discharging cycles.
Note: TACKLIFE T8 is a relatively simple and safe jump starter to use, but nonetheless, when it arrives, be sure to read the manual thoroughly - better safe than sorry. Also, it is a good practice to have the manual carried with the unit, in the case that the TACKLIFE T8 must be used by an inexperienced person.
Additional features of the TACKLIFE T8 include:
- LED Flashlight with Normal/SOS/Strobe/Red Warning modes,
- USB 5V/2.1A charging port,
- USB QC 5V/2.4 and 9V/2A charging port,
- 12V/10A charging port.
Also, when compared with the older TACKLIFE T8 jump starter (red/gray), the newer TACKLIFE T8 (green/gray) features somewhat stronger clamps and automatic power off, with few other less important differences.
Note: while fully charged TACKLIFE T8 can recharge other devices like smartphones (5-7x), tablets (2-3x), smartwatches (10-12x), etc, and as such, it can be used as a smart power bank, its main function is 'jump starter' - don't discharge its battery completely by recharging other devices, you may need it sooner or later ...
What's in the Box?
When the TACKLIFE T8 arrives, the box contains:
- TACKLIFE T8 Jump Starter with carrying case,
- Smart Jump Clamps with Indicator,
- Car Charger,
- Wall Charger,
- USB to Micro-USB cable,
- Cigarette Adapter cable,
Considering all the features, dimensions, weight and in the end, the price, no wonder that the 'old' and 'new' TACKLIFE T8 jump starters are some of the most popular units on the market.
How to Use TACKLIFE T8 Jump Starter?
TACKLIFE T8 is very simple to use - open the manual and read it :)
Seriously, keep the manual in the carrying case and if You are unsure, read it several times if required.
For short: connect the jumper cable into the car jumper, connect the clamps to the car battery, start the engine, remove the clamps from the battery, and pack the unit into the carrying case.
Note: Although the newer TACKLIFE T8 feature automatic shut-off, it is recommended to turn it off manually before packing it into the carrying case. The older TACKLIFE T8 didn't have this feature, resulting in many units discharging their battery completely.
Long Story Short: TACKLIFE T8 Jump Starter is a fairly cheap and reliable piece of equipment that can come in very handy in many situations. If You like camping, fishing, or other outdoor activities that rely heavily on internal combustion engines, it is highly recommended to have one such unit as a backup.
Most power generators with electric start also feature a manual starting system, but in many situations, it is much more convenient and faster to simply connect jump starter to the battery and crank the engine - regardless if it is a power generator, ATV, boat, SUV, truck, RV, etc.
