GearLight S2500 LED Flashlight

GearLight S2500 LED Flashlight is one of the most popular and best-buy LED flashlights, suitable for various roles thanks to very strong light (1500 lumens), the use of very popular AA batteries, variable zoom, full metal construction, etc.

GearLight S2500 LED Flashlight is very similar to GearLight S2000 LED Flashlight, but it comes with a different, more powerful LED, the use of more AA batteries, and a few more interesting differences.

GearLight S2500 LED Flashlight Features And Specifications

GearLight S2500 LED flashlight features a full construction body made from anodized aluminum, ensuring relatively lightweight but strong and robust construction.

The flashlight is powered by 6 (six) AA batteries, which are not included. To keep things simple and to keep the price surprisingly low, the flashlight doesn't support the use of lithium batteries like CR123A, 18650, or similar.

GearLight S2500 flashlight comes with XHP50 LED ensuring full 1500 lumens - HXP50 LED features a maximum of 2320 lumens and 18W; GearLight S2500 obviously still has room for improvement.

The flashlight also comes with three light modes (Low, Medium, and High) and features a runtime of at least 8 hours using Low light mode - actual runtime depends on the choice of AA batteries.

Zoom is adjustable, allowing the user to focus the light beam to increase the beam range or to broaden a light beam to increase the lit area.

The physical dimensions of the GearLight S2500 flashlight are ~7.25 x 1.75 inches (~18.5 x 4.5 cm), while the weight depends on the chosen batteries.

Many users praise the GearLight S2500 flashlight's robustness and water resistance, but the official IP rating is IPX4 - the flashlight is resistant to splashing water from any direction for 10 minutes. This is more than enough for camping, hiking, EDC, or similar flashlights, but if you need a really water-resistant flashlight, go for IPX7 or preferably IPX8 flashlights, which also cost more.

Note: This is not a pocket or palm-size flashlight - it can easily fit into backpacks and similar, but it cannot be carried in a pocket, for example.

When the unit arrives, the box contains a GearLight S2500 flashlight, an AA batteries holder, a lanyard, and a user manual.

Note: GearLight S2500 flashlight is rather easy to use and maintain, but when it arrives, read a user manual, just in case.

GearLight S2000 LED Flashlight vs. GearLight S2500 LED Flashlight

GearLight S2000 LED flashlight and GearLight S2500 LED flashlight are two very similar LED flashlights, differing in a few details:

  • GearLight S2500 flashlight is powered by 6 (six) AA batteries, while the GearLight S2000 flashlight uses 4 (four) AA batteries,
  • GearLight S2500 flashlight features XPH50 LED, while the GearLight S2000 flashlight comes with XM-L2 LED,
  • GearLight S2500 flashlight features 1500 lumens max, and the GearLight S2000 flashlight features 1200 lumens max.

GearLight S2500 LED flashlight is a stronger model, but the GearLight S2000 LED flashlight is still a preferred choice for many people looking for cheap and reliable AA flashlights.
