Generac GP3300i 7154 2500/3300-Watt Gas-Powered Portable Inverter Generator

Generac GP3300i 7154 is a rather compact and quiet portable power generator featuring very low THD levels and a variable speed engine, making it suitable for use during blackouts, in emergencies, when camping, tailgating, and whenever being off-the-grid.

Generac GP3300i is CARB compliant power generator and comes with various safety features, including Low Oil Shutdown. However, it doesn't feature Carbon Monoxide sensor/alarm, which would be great.

Generac GP3300i Portable Inverter Generator Features And Specifications

Generac GP3300i inverter generator is powered by a single-cylinder, 4-stroke, variable speed, gasoline 149cc engine, ensuring 2500 Running Watts and 3300 Starting Watts, thanks to the Generac's PowerRush technology.

The gas tank features a capacity of 1.06 gallons (~4 liters), ensuring 7h runtime @25% (625W) load and 4.5h @50% (1250W) load on a single full fuel tank.

Generac GP3300i features fully enclosed construction, keeping the noise very low, which is very important when the power generator is near the users - just be sure to read the Owner's Guide, especially safety recommendations regarding positioning the unit (down the wind, for example).

The physical dimensions of the unit are (L x W x H) 22.3 x 13.4 x 18.4 inches (~56.7 x 34 x 46.7 cm), and the unit weighs 59.5 pounds (~27 kg) dry.

Generac GP3300i comes with a built-in handle, allowing a single adult to carry the unit to very short distances - don't forget, this is ~60 pounds unit!

Generac GP3300i features manual recoil pull start system - it doesn't have an electric start, it doesn't have a remote start, it doesn't feature Bluetooth or WiFi connectivity, etc.

But, it is very simple to use and maintain inverter generator and, thus, very popular in its 3000W generators class.

Note: when the unit arrives, just be sure to read the Owner's Guide in order to get accustomed to your new power generator.

Generac GP3300i features 120V 20A Duplex and 120V 30A L5-30R AC receptacles and two USB ports (5V/2.1A, 5V/1A) - the unit doesn't feature a 12V DC port, so if the user wishes to charge 12V AGM/GEL/Lithium batteries, a 120V AC battery charger must be used.

Note: With many newer systems switching from 12V to higher 24V, 36V, and 48V (sometimes even more), perhaps it is best to have stable 120V AC outputs and use advanced battery chargers as needed.

Also, Generac GP3300i features three signal LEDs:

  • Low Oil Warning (Yellow)
  • Overload (Red)
  • AC Power Ready (Green).

To help with fuel economy, Generac GP3300i also comes with an Economy switch (ECO), allowing the unit to adjust engine speed (RPM) according to the load.

The Generac GP3300i power generator is a parallel-ready unit, but the parallel kit must be ordered separately.

Generac 7668 120V Parallel Cable Kit (Amazon link, link opens in the new window) allows the user to connect two compatible Generac GP series power generators (for example, two Generac GP3300i power generators), practically doubling the output power.

Also, Generac 7668 120V Parallel Cable Kit also offers two new receptacles: 30-Amp TT-30R and 50-Amp 14-50R receptacles; just note that 240V operation is not supported.

Generac 7668 120V Parallel Cable Kit comes with a 90-day limited warranty (both commercial and residential), while the Generac GP3300i power generator comes with a 3-year limited residential and 1-year limited commercial warranty.

With THD levels below 3%, Generac GP3300i power generator can be used to power sensitive electronics directly, and with 2500 Running Watts and 3300 Starting Watts, it can be used to power many home appliances when the mains power isn't available.

And if more power is required, the Generac GP3300i power generator supports parallel operation.

Generac GP3300i is not a cheap unit, but what You pay is what You get.

Note: If You need a slightly stronger unit, perhaps You should consider an excellent Generac iQ3500 power generator, which features 3000 Running Watts, 3500 Starting Watts, electric start, and much longer runtime on a single fuel tank (8.9h @50% and 14.1h @25%) - and no, it's not cheap either :)
