Ampeak 1000W Power Inverter is a reliable and sturdy, 12V DC to 110V AC modified sine wave power inverter. It is intended for powering lighter loads during camping, fishing, and other trips in nature, as a general-purpose power inverter for off-the-grid applications and of course, for use in emergencies.
Ampeak 1000W Power Inverter is able to provide 1000W continuously, 2000W surge, and comes with 2 110V AC outlets and one 5V 2.1 Amps USB port, making it suitable for powering smaller loads commonly found at homes, RVs and similar.

Ampeak 1000W Power Inverter Features and Specifications
Ampeak 1000W Power Inverter is a relatively lightweight and compact unit, weighing 3.4 pounds (~1.54 kg) and featuring physical dimensions (L x W x H) of 8.19 x 5.91 x 2.76 inches (~20.8 x 15 x 7 cm).
In order to make its use as safe as possible, Ampeak 1000W Power Inverter comes with the set of protection features, including:
- Overload Protection, Digital Display message 'OLP'
- Short Circuit Protection, Digital Display message 'OPP',
- Over Voltage Protection (DC 15.5?0.5V), Digital Display message 'OUP'
- Low Voltage Protection (DC 10.5?0.3V), Digital Display message 'LUP'
- Low Voltage Alarm (DC 11.0?0.3V)
- Over Temperature Protection, Digital Display message 'OCP'.
Ampeak 1000W Power Inverter supports the use of remote control which is connected to the RJ11 port on the front side of the unit, but it should be either order separately, or one may order the inverter with remote control included.
Recommended operating temperature is in the 32°F (0°C) - 104°F (40°C) range. Also, Ampeak 1000W Power Inverter should be used in a dry, well-ventilated area with no battery fumes or anything similar present.
Ampeak 1000W Power Inverter uses 'modified sine wave' which is perfectly fine for resistive loads, but does not work well for inductive loads.
Thus, if the user has an electric motor or a delicate piece of medical equipment, a 'pure sine wave' inverter is required.
Also, when the inverter is connected to 12V power source and it is turned ON, it draws ~0.6 Amps even when there is no load of any kind connected to the inverter - while 0.65 Amps doesn't sound much, when the inverter is not in use, be sure to turn it OFF when it is not going to be used for some time.
The front side of the inverter features Digital Display, AC Outlets, Ventilation Openings, Power Switch Button, Output (kW and W), USB Charging Port, Remote Control Port, and Input (V).
Smart Digital Display shows the user the DC input voltage, AC output wattage or, if required, Fault Codes to make the user more aware of the current inverter status.
The rear side features Positive (Red) and Negative (Black) terminals and temperature-controlled Cooling Fan.
Ampeak 1000W Power Inverter may be used in temporary installations, for example, connected to car or RV battery, or it can be connected permanently to dedicated battery or battery pack.
Note: Ampeak 1000W Power Inverter may be connected to the car battery and it can even operate while the engine is running (in order to recharge the battery), but voltage drop that occurs when cranking the engine may trigger the low-voltage shutdown protection.

When Ampeak 1000W Power Inverter arrives, the box includes 1 x 1000W Power Inverter, 2 x Ring Terminal Wires (37.4 inches, 95 cm) with Terminal Protective Caps, 1 x User Manual, and 1 x Quick Start Manual.
Note: while Ampeak 1000W Power Inverter is simple to use and maintain power inverter, when it arrives, it is highly recommended to read the manuals thoroughly - better safe than sorry.
Recommended Battery Size
Since Ampeak 1000W Power Inverter features maximum efficiency of some 85%, battery size depends on the anticipated inverter load and required operating time.
For example, general-purpose Mighty Max ML75-12 AGM SLA battery features a nominal voltage of 12 volts and a 20h capacity of 77 Ah.
When Mighty Max ML75-12 is being discharged for 1h down to 10.8 volts, it can provide 543.0 watts constantly.
With maximum efficiency of 85%, one may expect Mighty Max ML75-12 in combination with Ampeak 1000W Power Inverter to provide ~460 watts for one hour - in ideal conditions.
In real life, one may expect this combination to provide some ~400 watts for one hour.
Of course, in order to achieve longer operating times and in order to support more devices, larger batteries (or battery packs) are required.
On the other hand, when intended to power devices like USB smartphone or tablet chargers, smaller TV sets, and similar, Ampeak 1000W Power Inverter may be connected to smaller batteries as well - just be sure to do the calculation properly.
Note: Owner's Manual provides a very useful chart that lists approximate operating times for different AC power loads and for different battery capacities.
Long Story Short: Ampeak 1000W Power Inverter is a simple and robust modified sine wave power inverter. It is not very suitable for very sensitive electronics and other devices, but smaller refrigerators (<130 watts), smaller electric drills (<200 watts), TV sets, microwave ovens, and similar loads can be run with this inverter.
Note: some sensitive audio, TV, and multimedia sets may have issues when being powered by modified sine wave inverters - in that case, power inverter with a true sine wave power output is required.
