Krieger KR2000 2000 Watts 12V Modified Sine Wave Car Power Inverter
Krieger KR2000 is a very sturdy and reliable 12V power inverter featuring 2000 watts continuous power, 4000 watts surge power, modified sine wave output, two 110 AC volts output ports, two USB ports, wired remote control, and a set of safety features ensuring the safest possible operation.
Since it is a 12V power inverter, Krieger KR2000 may draw rather strong currents from the battery (or battery pack), thus, having properly sized cables is very important.

Krieger KR2000 Modified Sine Wave Power Inverter Features and Specifications
Krieger KR2000 power inverter is NOT a pure sine wave power inverter, but nonetheless, it has stable output voltage and may be used for most tools and appliances that are not too sensitive regarding input voltage, making it a very popular model for powering RV appliances, or camping, in emergencies, for various marine applications and similar.
Generally, Krieger KR2000 is very simple to use power inverter, but when it arrives be sure to read the Owner's Guide thoroughly, especially the section about the devices that may have issues when powered by this or similar power inverters.
Physical dimensions of the unit are (L x W x H) 15.37 x 7.62 x 3.37 inches (~39 x 19.4 x 8.6 cm) and it weighs 7 pounds (~3.2 kg).
Krieger KR2000 is a 12V power inverter, but it accepts all voltages between 10.5 and 15.5 volts.
When the unit is connected to a 12V battery, the unit features ~0.8 Amps no-load current - Krieger KR2000 should never be turned ON and left unattended when connected to a car battery since even no-load current, over a longer period of time, can discharge the battery.
Krieger KR2000 comes with a set of safety features, including:
- over-temperature protection/shutdown,
- over-voltage (15.5 volts DC) protection,
- low-voltage alarm (10.6 volts DC),
- under-voltage (10.5 volts DC) protection,
- overload shutdown,
- short circuit shutdown, etc.
All these statuses are displayed on the front LCD screen, along with other information needed, including input voltage, output wattage, and battery charge level.
When in use, Krieger KR2000 features efficiency up to 90%, which is very good for power inverters in this class.
Output ports of the Krieger KR2000 include:
- 2x 120V AC ports,
- 2x USB 5V ports.
With 2000W continuous power and 4000W peak power, Krieger KR2000 is suitable for power a broad range of tools and appliances, regardless of the occasion.
What's in the Box?
When Krieger KR2000 arrives the box contains Krieger KR2000 power inverter, 3ft (~0.91 m) 2 Gauge battery cables, On/Off wired remote control, inline ANL fuse, and the User' Manual.
On/Off wired remote control allows the user to have the unit very close to the battery (or battery pack) and have minimal energy losses, while still being able to easily turn the unit On and Off.
Despite all the safety features that Krieger KR2000 has, having a properly dimensioned fuse is a must-have - thus the package also contains an inline ANL fuse.
How to Dimension a Battery Pack?
Krieger KR2000 is a 12V power inverter with an efficiency of up to 90% - for the sake of safety and having some safety margins, all the calculations are done using efficiency of 'only' 80%.
When the unit is pushed to its maximum of 2000 watts, the unit requires ~2500 watts, which is ~210 Amps @12 volts.
And 210 Amps is a lot - for example, the Renogy AGM 12V 200Ah AGM battery is able to provide 210 Amps for 20-23 minutes with the voltage not dropping below 10.5 volts.
However, by adding more batteries in the battery pack, the runtime can be prolonged significantly since lead-acid batteries feature a capacity drop when discharged with strong currents.
For example, if four of the very same Renogy 12V 200Ah AGM batteries are connected in parallel, then they can provide the required 210 Amps for almost three hours.
Thus, when dimensioning the battery pack, always consider average and maximum required power output and the required runtime - for safety reasons, always try to over-dimension the battery pack at least a little bit.
Long Story Short: If You are looking for a tough and durable 2000W 12V power inverter that doesn't have to be a pure sine-wave power inverter, consider the Krieger KR2000 power inverter.
IT comes with the full set of safety features, wired remote control, and battery cables and, it comes at a very acceptable price, especially considering its 3-year limited warranty.
