Voltworks VS-1500PBR Pure Sine Wave Power Inverter
With its nominal wattage of 1500W, Voltworks VS-1500PBR lays right in-between 1000W and 2000W power inverters - people looking for 1000W should definitely consider "upgrading" to 1500W power inverters since power requirements generally can only go up.
The unit's physical dimensions are 14.49 x 7.99 x 3.9 inches (~36.8 x 20.3 x 9.9 cm), it weighs 8.69 pounds (~3.94 kg), and it features an energy efficiency of ~90%.
Voltworks VS-1500PBR is powered by 12V batteries, including both lead-acid and Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4), and is able to provide 1500W continuous and 3000W surge power.
Due to the unit's output, batteries (or battery packs) with a nominal capacity of at least 200Ah are recommended.
Voltworks 1500W 12V Pure Sine Wave Power Inverter comes with a wired (15 feet, ~4.6m long control wire) remote control and a pair of battery cables.
Since the unit draws ~1.1 Amps idle current when the unit is not in use, it is highly recommended to turn it off when not in use.
Voltworks VS-1500PBR power inverter also features a small LCD screen on top of the unit, which displays the most important power inverter parameters, including battery status, input and output voltages, status codes, and similar.
The battery cables that come with the inverter are AWG 4 and are 2 feet (~60 cm) long - it is recommended to mount the inverter as close to the batteries as possible to avoid large energy losses due to high battery currents.
Note: with 12V (voltage on inverter terminals), 1500W, and 90% efficiency, the power inverter draws ~140 Amps.
If You are using 4 AWG wires that means that the volta drop on both wires is:
U = 2 wires * 2 feet * 0.2485 mΩ/ft * 140 Amps = 0.13916 V
So, energy/power loss in these two wires is:
P = 0.13916V * 140A = ~19.5W
When compared with the total battery output of ~1666W, this 19.5W doesn't sound much, but it can cause wires to get warm, even hot. After all, 4 gauge wire Ampacity in the air is 105A for 60°C/140°F, 125A for 75°C/167°F, and 140A for 90°C/194°F.
So, if possible, don't use 4 AWG wires that came with the unit; replace them with AWG 2 or preferably with AWG 0 (AWG 1/0) wires. Just my 2c.
Voltworks 1500W power inverter is a pure sine wave power inverter with very low THD levels making it suitable for powering sensitive electronics.
The output ports include:
- three (3) 120V AC outlets
- two (2) USB (5.0V, 2.4A) charging ports.
Also, the unit comes with the most important safety protections, including short-circuit protection, input over- and under-voltage protection, over-load protection, over-current protection, and over-temperature protection.
Voltworks 1500W power inverter features intelligent cooling fans that keep the unit as cool as possible while also keeping the noise levels as low as possible. However, when installing the unit, install it near batteries, in a well-ventilated area that doesn't get very warm/hot - it will help both the Voltworks 1500W power inverter and the batteries.
The unit comes with an 18-month limited warranty. Also, product liability insurance is covered by AIG insurance company.
Voltworks 1500W power inverter is an excellent 1500W pure sine wave power inverter - people looking for 1000W power inverters who have doubts that 1000W power inverters are strong enough for their needs should definitely consider Voltworks 1500W power inverter as their new power inverter.
Also, people who wish to run their sensitive equipment when being off-the-grid should consider this unit - after all, although the Voltworks 1500W power inverter is not the cheapest unit in its class, it is, nonetheless, one of the most popular.
Note: some appliances like microwaves, refrigerators, laser printers, and similar have very strong initial currents - before powering such units, try to find out their exact power requirements.
Voltworks VS-1500PBR is rather simple to use and maintain power inverter, but when it arrives, be sure to read the manual/Owner's Guide thoroughly to get accustomed to your new power inverter.
