First Alert AF400 Features and Specifications
First Alert AF400 is a fire-extinguishing aerosol spray intended for putting out fires involving paper, fabric, wood, cooking oils, electrical appliances, and similar materials.
The physical dimensions of the bottle are (D x H) 2.6 x 9.6 inches (~6.6 x 24.4 cm), and it provides 32(!) seconds of firefighting time.
The unit's nozzle sprays a relatively wide area, giving the user greater control to put out a fire faster. However, one should be aware that compact aerosol spray fire extinguishers can't match in performance with larger fire extinguishers.
But, the main advantages of First Alert AF400 EZ Fire Spray are the fact that it is easy to use under stress, cheap (more units can be purchased, increasing the possibility that one unit will be near the fire in order to put it out while the flames are still small), sprays the aerosol for 32 seconds, the aerosol is biodegradable and easy to clean with a dump cloth, etc.
First Alert AF400 Fire Extinguishing Aerosol Spray comes in packages of one or two spray bottles - to get accustomed to your new fire extinguisher, read the instructions that come with the spray bottle, and if you have the opportunity, test one spray bottle under controlled conditions by putting out a small fire.
Tundra AF400 may be safely stored between 32 and 107°F (0 - 42°C).
If You have a gas or even a diesel-powered power generator, fire is always a hazard.
First Alert AF400 can't put out large fires of burning gas or diesel fuel, but if it is stored next to your power generator and/or its fuel, it can be used at the moment of notice while the fire is still small.
Also, if there are any issues with electric appliances, cooking issues, or anything similar, having one (or more) of First Alert AF400 fire sprays can make a huge difference.
Note: Regardless of how quick to use and how good they are, fire extinguishing aerosol sprays can't fully replace full-size fire extinguishers.
However, they can come in very handy in many situations - just grab them, remove the safety seal and cap, hold the spray some 3-4 feet from the fire (safety first!), and spray across the base of the fire.
