KAIWEETS KVB01 Features and Specifications
KAIWEETS KVB01 is a rather compact unit with a physical dimensions of (L x W x H) 5.51 x 2.6 x 1.14 inches (140 x 66 x 29 mm) and 78.7 inches (2 meters) long cables.
Both cables come with large, insulated clamps - when connecting the cables, always connect the red clamp to the red/positive battery terminal and the black clamp to the black/negative battery terminal.
Note: the unit comes with reverse polarity protection, but it often pays to be extra careful...
The front side of the unit contains a 2.4-inch display screen, a measure/confirm button (the red one), Up and Down buttons/arrows, a language switch button (supported languages English, French, Russian, German, Japanese, Spanish, and Italian), a backspace button, and a record view button.
KAIWEETS KVB01 is intended for testing various lead-acid batteries, including wet/flooded, VRLA, Gel, AGM, SLA, and SLI lead-acid batteries. If your vehicle or application includes lithium batteries, they should be either tested using some other battery tester, or one can use a Wi-Fi/Bluetooth connection to the batteries and display the results on the smartphone via batteries' App.
Also, the tester is intended for testing not only car batteries, but also motorcycle batteries, golf cart batteries, marine batteries, light-industrial lead-acid batteries, deep-cycle batteries, etc. - CCA testing range is 100-2000 CCA, which is enough for most potential users.
Note: KAIWEETS KVB01 comes with 2m long cables that are long enough when the car's battery is near the engine. However, if the battery is in the trunk or similar, maybe you will have issues using the battery tester and starting/stoping your engine at the same time due to "short" cables. But, in most situations, the cables are more than long enough.
Battery Tests Included
KAIWEETS KVB01 offers a series of battery tests, including:
- State of Charge (SoC) Test
- State of Health (SoH) Test
- Voltage Test
- Resistance Test
- Loading Test
- Charging Test
- Cranking Test
Also, it allows the user to save data currently displayed on the screen.
When testing batteries, the results can be provided according to different standards - these standards include CCA, IEC, EN, DIN, and JIS.
Note: KAIWEETS KVB01 is a rather intuitive KAIWEETS (external link, official KAIWEETS website) instrument that can be easily used, but just in case, when it arrives, be sure to read the Owner's Guide. Also, when it arrives, do some testing to get accustomed to your new unit - if something should happen to your battery, you will already have some experience in using this tool, which can be rather helpful in situations where people may be under additional stress (dead or weak battery, for example).
What's in the Box?
When the unit arrives, the box contains a KAIWEETS KVB01 battery tester with cables, a User's Manual, and a very convenient carrying case.
The unit doesn't contain its own batteries - it is powered by the tested battery when connected. This allows the unit to have a large storage (-10°C to +60°C) and operating temperature (0°C to +50°C) range, but don't abuse this fact too much.
KAIWEETS KVB01 comes with a 3-year limited warranty. Also, they are known for having excellent user service, so if you end up having issues or even questions about this device, their response is usually very fast.
Do I Need a KAIWEETS KVB01 Battery Tester?
Most people underestimate the importance of having tools like this in their car or garage.
KAIWEETS KVB01 is a very affordable battery tester that does its job well. Now, if you maintain your car or similar vehicle regularly and check the condition of your battery (especially in the autumn and winter) in the car's official dealership or service, then you are more or less certain that your battery will not fail on you when you need it most.
But, even if you do so, it is recommended to test the battery, the car's charging system, and the car's starting system periodically in just a few minutes, especially in autumn and during the winter - it is better for the tester to display "ATTENTION," than to get stuck in subfreezing temperatures who knows where ... Just my 2c.
