Weize FP12750/TL1275 is a very popular BCI Group 24, deep cycle, Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM), general-purpose battery.

Weize FP12750/TL1275 is intended for various deep-cycle and float/standby applications, including trolling motor battery, medical/security systems battery, sump pump backup battery, wheelchair battery, solar/off-the-grid battery, and similar.

 Weize FP12750/TL1275 Features and Specifications

Weize FP12750/TL1275 battery is delivered labeled as either Weize FP12750 battery or as Weize TL1275 battery, hence we use "Weize FP12750/TL1275" label.

According to the manufacturer, these two batteries are exactly the same models, just different production batches.

Weize FP12750/TL1275 battery physical dimensions are 10.02 x 6.65 x 8.94 inches (~25.5 x 16.9 x 22.7 cm) and it weighs 46 pounds (~20.9 kg) and it belongs to the BCI Group 24.

The battery uses heavy-duty, calcium-alloy plates that provide good performances and service life in both float/standby and deep cycle applications.

Weize FP12750/TL1275 battery features nominal voltage of 12 volts and 10h capacity of 75 Ah, with the 20h/nominal capacity being ~77Ah.

When the battery is used in float applications, the charging voltage should be in the 13.50-13.80 volts range.

When the Weize FP12750/TL1275 battery is used in cyclic applications, there are two given values:

- FP12750 battery: 14.50 - 14.90 volts,

- TL1275 battery: 14.40 - 15.0 volts.

This is the only 'visible' difference between these two models.

Personally, modern AGM Valve Regulated Lead-Acid (VRLA) batteries have a slightly higher voltage than older AGM VRLA batteries, but keeping the charging voltage below 14.7-14.8 volts (@77°F, 25°C - for other temperatures, temperature compensation is required) will prevent gassing and prolong the operating life of the battery. Weize FP12750/TL1275 battery features nut&bolt T5 battery terminal (positive to the left), with the nuts&bolts included, but without any wires, cables, or anything similar.

Such connection ensures a firm fit and good electric conductivity.

Weize FP12750/TL1275 battery is a spill-proof, maintenance-free battery that can be mounted sideways, but if possible, it should be mounted vertically - for exact procedures, check the documentation that comes with the battery.

How to Charge Weize FP12750/TL1275 Battery?

Thanks to the heavy calcium-lead alloy grid, the Weize FP12750/TL1275 battery features a maximum initial charging current of 22.5 Amps.

In order to prolong the lifetime of the battery, smart AGM battery chargers with the maximum charging current of 10-15 Amps and temperature compensation are highly recommended.

For example, if the battery is discharged down to 50% DoD, 10 Amps AGM battery charger will charge the battery in ~4 hours, depending on the battery age and condition - smart AGM battery chargers analyze the battery first and then adjust the charging method according to the battery's condition.

And when the charging is done, they automatically switch into the maintenance mode, keeping the battery charged over longer periods of time.

Weize FP12750/TL1275 Battery vs Group 24 Batteries

When compared with other BCI Group 14 batteries, Weize FP12750/TL1275 battery features good capacity and is somewhat lighter than most other models.

Since it is a deep cycle, general-purpose battery, Weize FP12750/TL1275 and other similar batteries should NOT be used in starting/cranking applications - much smaller and cheaper PowerSports batteries can do such jobs better.
