Weize YTX30L-BS Battery Features and Specifications

Weize YTX30L-BS battery features physical dimensions of (L x W x H) 6.54 x 4.96 x 6.89 inches (~166 x 126 x 175 mm) and it belongs to the YTX30L-BS battery group.

Also, it weighs 17.7 pounds (~8.1 kg).

Weize YTX30L-BS battery is a Sealed Lead-Acid (SLA) Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) battery with increased resistance to typical Powersport battery killers - vibrations and mechanical impacts.

Also, it features a 10h capacity of 30Ah and Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) value of 385 Amps, allowing the battery to start smaller internal combustion engines easily even when not fully charged.

However, in order to prolong its lifetime, keep the battery fully charged all the time. When the battery arrives, it should be (almost) fully charged - if not, either charge it using a 2-3 Amps smart AGM battery charger or place it into your vehicle (motorcycle, ATV, snowmobile, etc.) with an alternator and charge controller in working condition.

Note: according to the manufacturer, when the battery is being charged using an AGM battery charger, the recommended current is 3 Amps, and the end charging voltage is 14.4-14.9 volts.

The battery also features a relatively low self-discharge rate, especially at lower temperatures - if the vehicle is not going to be used for a longer period of time, it is highly recommended to disconnect the battery from the electric system of the vehicle (this eliminates parasite loads completely) and to use a good AGM battery maintainer to monitor and to maintain the battery fully charged.

As a typical YTX30L-BS battery, the Weize YTX30L-BS battery features nuts&bolt battery terminals with a positive terminal on the right side and the negative terminal on the left side of the battery.

Unlike wet/flooded lead-acid starting batteries, AGM lead-acid batteries feature a glass mat between the plates, preventing (up to the point) short-circuiting the cells - when the lead-acid batteries are discharged deeply, thin lead plates tend to warp slightly.

Weize YTX30L-BS battery is designed as starting battery and although it is sometimes even advertised as both starting and deep cycle battery, it is NOT dual-purpose battery - it should be used as starting battery only.

However, if You have a good, fully charged Weize YTX30L-BS battery around and want to use it as, for example, a fish finder battery (or something similar), feel free to do so, just be sure not to discharge it below 50% SoC - few cycles here and there down to 50% SoC should not be a problem for an AGM battery.

Note: after the battery is being discharged, be sure to recharge it completely as soon as possible.

Long Story Short: Due to its well-balanced combination of performances, quality and price, the Weize YTX30L-BS battery is a very popular YTX30L-BS battery, commonly used for larger motorcycles, ATVs, snowmobiles, power generators, lawn tractors, and similar applications.

However, note that a small number of these batteries simply die relatively quickly - if You plan to replace the battery before going on a ride or anything similar, be sure to replace the battery a few weeks before the actual ride, just in case.
